Leave Creag-na-Mara and turn L along A836 then immediately L. Follow minor roads along coast past Castle of Mey and to Western Haven, Scarfskerry and the Hill of Rattar. At T turn R through Ham and into Brough. Turn R along B855 (6 miles) and continue to Dunnet Head. Return to Brough, turn R to Dunnet village and at A836 turn R (14 miles).
Follow A836 into Castletown and in High Street turn L at hotel along NCN 1 to avoid traffic on A836. (17 miles). At T (20 miles) turn R and enter Thurso (23 miles).
Find station and board train for Inverness (1306).
