Leave the Commercial Hotel and from High Street take Ardross Street. Take 2nd R and travel through the White Hills to Badachonacher (3 miles), Stonyfield (4.5 miles), Lamington (8.5 miles) and into Tain (12 miles. At junction with A9 turn L and follow A9 over the Dornoch Firth Bridge (15 miles).
Immediately after bridge, turn R along unc. rad to Dornoch (20 miles). Head N out of Dornoch on Station Road to Embo Street, Skelbo Street and follow the coast back to the A9. [NB If preferred, stay on A9 and ignore the Dornoch detour.]
once back on the A9 (26 miles) simply follow the road via Golspie (31 miles) Brora (37 miles), Helmsdale (48 miles) Berriedale (58 miles), Dunbeath (62 miles) and Toremore Farm (63 miles).
